What is a CVV2 Code?
CVV2 codes are included on all Visa
and Mastercard credit cards as an extra security measure to help
prevent fraud. The CVV2 number is not part of your regular credit card number,
so anyone who has only your credit card number cannot guess your CVV2.
Visa and Mastercard print the CVV2 number on the back of the card on the
signature strip (see example below).
